Johnson & Johnson Africa Innovation Challenge 2.0
Johnson and Johnson’s Africa Innovation Challenge 2.0 is here! As a result, all African innovators are invited to submit their ideas.
Entries opened on Thursday November 8. The Africa Innovation Challenge is designed for the continent’s innovators to showcase new ideas. This extraordinary opportunity is in its second edition (first edition launched in November 2016) . The aim is to support African based entrepreneurs. Most importantly, it is to find solutions to select health and environmental issues.
“The growing number of innovation hubs throughout Africa is sparking a new generation of entrepreneurs who are innovating and finding new solutions for issues facing their communities.” – Josh Ghaim, chief technology officer at Johnson & Johnson.
In showing support to entrepreneurs finding solutions for community issues, Johnson and Johnson provides select winners with up to US$50 000. The price aids financial support along with resources to bring ideas to fruition. In addition, winners receive mentorship from Johnson & Johnson’s global network of scientists, engineers and business managers.
Idea submissions must be innovative and scalable. Secondly, they must meet at least one of the challenge categories. Categories include:
- Botanical Solutions
- Mental Health
- Packaging Innovations
- Health Worker Support
- Digital Health Tools and
- Essential Surgical Care
Submissions are open continent-wide and are subject to eligibility requirements stated in the challenge’s terms and conditions. Entries can be from one or more individuals, teams or companies. Apply here.
