Marc-Vivien Foé Award 2017: Ivorian Jean Michael Seri elected African player of the year in L1

The Ivorian Jean Michael Seri was awarded the Marc Vivien Foé Award, presented by RFI and France 24 to the best African player in France.

After a brilliant 2016-2017 season at OGC Nice, the 25-year-old Ivorian midfielder, scored 255 points with ten assists and six goals. He is positioned in front of Montpellier Algerian Ryad Boudebouz (126 pts) and Cameroon striker Lorient Benjamin Moukandjo (97 pts).

Player’s career

Seri began his career at number 10 in the Ivorian championship, under the shirt of Africa Sports then that of the Asec Mimosas. Elected player of the year in Côte d’Ivoire in 2012, and for Portugal join FC Porto. After three difficult years in Portugal, he ends up being recruited by Nice in 2015 against a check of 700 000 euros. Two years later, here he is crowned African best league day 1.

We’ll see where Jean Michael Seri will continue his irresistible ascent. It should be noted that FC Barcelona was always a dream for this new pearl of Ivorian football.
