Flyafrica the African company that offers flights to 15,000 FCFA

The Gabonese government announced Saturday, August 29, 2015, the launch of Gabon flyafrica.com, a low-cost pan-African airline.

Operational in Southern Africa for thirteen months, FlyAfrica.com must soon operate initially, from the airport platform of Libreville, according to a statement of the presidency of the Gabonese Republic.

The peculiarity of Gabon flyafrica.com would be to make the plane accessible to the greatest number thanks to ultra-competitive tariffs that will put Port-Gentil at about 15,000 francs, that is the cost of a single ticket to the same city by boat. The flights to Paris will be at 150,000 francs, at least three times less than the tariffs currently practiced.

One of the biggest obstacles to growth and development in Africa is the cost of investing in business. The democratization of pan-African air transport is therefore a key growth factor for the continent. According to some airline analysts, a 10% increase in international connections impacts the Gross National Product by 0.7%.

Mostly held by the family of its CEO, Chaka Karase, Flyafrica was launched in 2014 in Southern Africa and reduced prices on flights between Johannesburg and Harare by 50-70%. The second phase of its enlargement will therefore include Gabon and other countries in East and West Africa.
