Heel The World (HTW): High-end Shoes Made in Ghana
Fred Mawuli Deegbe, a young banker, abandons his job in 2011 to devote himself exclusively to the founding of HTW (Heel The World), a high-end footwear brand made in Ghana.
Rebuffed by the various answers he received about the simple question: “Why do not we produce high-end shoes in Ghana, despite the very good reputation of our shoemakers? “The latter decided to take on the task and prove to the most skeptical that it is possible to design and produce high-end shoes in his country.
He experienced difficult beginnings due in particular to his lack of experience in the field of shoes, but thanks to the subcontracting with local craftsmen and the full-time employment of a shoemaker he could start his manufacture.
Another popularity of HTW are the pearl bracelets that the company calls “Empowerment Beads: Strengthening Pearls”. Launched in 2011, they have been worn by many celebrities including Togolese footballer Adebayor, American artists Fabulous and Trey Songz or even the Prince of the Netherlands (Holland).
Fred Deegbe wants to be very optimistic about the future of HTW and wishes why not one day, dethroning brands like Hermes, Prada and Louis Vuitton!
