Christophe Mérieux 2015 Award for Professor Jean-Jacques Muyembe
Professor Jean-Jacques Muyembe will received on 3 June the Christophe Mérieux 2015 prize (500,000 euros), to encourage his research on the Ebola virus.
“This is a distinction to reward his research which allowed the development of measures to control the disease.”
“He contributed to the discovery of Ebola haemorrhagic fever (FHVE) and was the first researcher to visit the site of the first epidemic, which took place in 1978 in Yambuku, DRC.”
